Special Moments

At the Waterfront

Last weekend we camped overnight at the in-laws. And seeing we actually wake before 9 (heh!), we went ahead with the plan to hit Woodlands Waterfront. It was a little weird being in Singapore and hearing almost everyone speak with a ‘Malaysian’ accent. But then again, it was that close to the Causeway and free. [...]

Of ice-cream, real and faux

We stumbled into Salted Caramel after Sunday’s dinner. A welcome relief from the hot humid weather and a nice place to chill. It’s cool factor went up a notch when I spied the fully equipped Ikea kitchen (toy of course) set hidden away in a corner. It was like a mini paradise to us and [...]

Blessed Teacher’s Day

Blessed Teacher’s Day. Especially to J’s (and soon to be K’s) teachers. Thank you for your enduring patience, love, care and guidance. It’s very much appreciated. With love.

Back to Reality

Missed us? We were away for a short holiday and just got in early Saturday morning. Things are a-moving and there hasn’t been much time to blog. It was a hot trip, in all senses of the word. And I guess, we are all glad to be back. Kath’s has been modeling Jay a fair [...]

terrible twos

… starts today. And here’s what happens if you wake too early and play too much. You run out of steam, and sleep overtakes you, even in the weirdest of situations. Happy Birthday not so babyK.

Conversations with Jayden

Me: school’s celebrating National Day on Friday. Jayden: oh really? Can I wear red and white to school? Yes you may. Do you know what colour is on the flag? And how many stars? Red and white. 5 stars. And there’s a moon. It looks like a banana. Really? Yes. I’d show you later when [...]

Weekend’s here!

Judging by the ruckus these two make when they play downstairs, I’m rather thankful we aren’t staying on the low floors. Of course there are other pros and cons to consider when you stay way up high, but that’s for another story. Right now, I’m just thankful the weekend is here.

upcycled into inedible fun

Got it? We had some expired flour and food colouring left from way back when. And finally got down to using them in making our own Playdoh. Non-toxic (I think, seeing, well, it is expired after all) but really, the huge amount of salt that went into making these is probably enough deterrent. Now to [...]

On my mind

come on and pucker up! Jayden is in one of ‘em funny face phases and Kath is forever emulating her big bro. So you end up with weird photo moments like these that are going to be so much fun to hold ransom against. These two are quite different yet similar in so many ways. [...]

happy birthday grandpa

happy birthday grandpa! Dad turned a year older today. As usual, birthday celebrations are always about letting the kids blow the candles. Kath’s rather fascinated by the candles now. I think she is ready for her own in about 2 weeks’ time. Greedy lil Kath is eyeing the cake. Haha. She had her eyes trained [...]

playtime

They don’t need fancy playgrounds. Oh no, not these two. Just the time to run in the sun, fly like the wind and the company to bicker with. They fight play like cats and dogs. Oh what fun in the sun, just a short 15 minutes before church. They whizzed to and fro on the [...]

Changi

Trips to Changi Airport are always a hit with these two. Nevermind that we are not the ones flying off today (soon enough though!). A run around in the hall, a late night bite at KFC and a (somewhat) long drive home. Just the thing to end off a Saturday. Note the matching footwear? Yeah… [...]

rolling along

Just got back Jayden’s first roll of film. Not too bad given it is his first time with the camera. A couple of shots from the visit to the Art Museum (hello Walter!) and more from our walk at the Botanics. We must have forgotten to adjust for the somewhat dimmer lighting that day. The [...]

‘da you’-ing

If you know Jayden, you’d know he is crazy over cars just to ‘da you’. Really. It probably stemmed from the short visits he got as a kid, especially round the time Kath was born where he’d head over to the nearest petrol kiosk with whoever, and in whichever vehicle needed a tank up. He [...]

Botanic Gardens

While what felt like the whole of Singapore was busy walking the rail road, we headed off to the Singapore Botanic Gardens instead. Jayden was promised some time with his camera and was quite happily snapping away. Prodigy he is not, but full marks for enthusiasm. Kathlene was napping on the way there and was [...]
