So we sneaked up North for a quick 3d2n escapade and brought the kids with us. A tiring but fun trip and one we enjoyed enough to think of repeating. We took the bus up and thankfully, the kids fell asleep. Armed with honey stars and milk packets, they managed to stave off hunger till we settled down at the hostel-like budget hotel we got.
As expected, we didn’t spend much time in the room. Well, more than if it had just been the two of us. And the no-frills place was good enough for us all.
We hopped over to nearby Pahlawan everyday. For spots of shopping and to use the long aircon building as a means to get to sights like Bukit St Paul’s, Jonker Street and Christ Church. With the kids, we fell into the tourist trap of the trishaw… which both thoroughly enjoyed. Kath who freaked out at the initial thought of sitting in the contraption, actually stopped everytime we passed one to ask to sit again (we didn’t).
Jayden managed to get some action with his golden half and we got some decent, if not unexpected photos from his roll. It certainly is a good reminder that things look different from his height.
All in, I do think we’d like… more!
Pictures are from the cutesy Hello Kitty Diana Mini.
V, not the kids. Well, their birthdays have come and gone.
With Jayden having much more decent handwriting and his love for colouring, we found some printables to make a lil card for V. And Kath not wanting to miss out, decided to colour one too. She requested demanded for an elephant. Why, I do not know.
No proper celebration yet but maybe when we scoot over to Malacca for a short break tomorrow.
And just like that daddy turns a year older.
Last weekend we camped overnight at the in-laws. And seeing we actually wake before 9 (heh!), we went ahead with the plan to hit Woodlands Waterfront. It was a little weird being in Singapore and hearing almost everyone speak with a ‘Malaysian’ accent. But then again, it was that close to the Causeway and free. Can’t say it was a surprise.
I do believe it is safe to say that we all loved the playground. Big, clean and didyouseetheropebridge? Must say that Jayden took us by surprise by wanting to climb it. And twice.
Kath was stuck on the ground, looking up. Too small. Not that she minded. There was another age appropriate playground for her.
The refurbished jetty was nice too. Provided a better vantage view of the surroundings. Was still relatively clean and you could see the Causeway as well as Johor quite clearly. Nice place to sit out the jam. Well, if you weren’t there in the hot afternoon that is.
K was somewhat freaking out at the waters around here. *must grab something*
I do think we’d be back. This time, hopefully with tricycles in tow. And more water.
